Collaboration and Consultation

We welcome enquiries about collaboration and analysis involving the ionosphere, geomagnetic data, satellite observations, GNSS-TEC, and time series. We begin by discussing the research question and available data to identify what can be explored together.

ORGANIZATION6 SECTIONS

Topics for Consultation

  • Analysis of low-Earth-orbit satellite data, ground magnetic observations, and GNSS-TEC
  • Analysis design for phenomena such as geomagnetic pulsations
  • Review of processing conditions and reproducibility, figures, and visualization
  • Preparation of analysis notes or explanations for web publication

Enquiries may concern a collaborative study or a specific question about figures or processing conditions. The approach depends on the purpose.

How a Consultation Proceeds

We first discuss what you want to understand, which data are available, and what outputs you need. Scope, participant roles, review methods, fees, schedule, and publication arrangements are agreed before work begins. You can enquire at an early stage if the current question and assumptions are clear.

What to Share in an Initial Message

  • The research purpose and the question or phenomenon to examine
  • The period, region, data type and location, and existing processing
  • Desired outputs such as figures, analysis records, or explanatory text
  • Presentation plans or deadlines, publication permission, and confidentiality conditions

Raw data is not needed in the initial enquiry. Any transfer method is agreed after reviewing data-use rights and confidentiality.

Outputs and Rights

Research ethics, data-use conditions, authorship, coauthorship, acknowledgements, and institutional procedures are agreed with the relevant parties. Arrangements for data return or deletion, publication, and later corrections are also agreed in advance.

The Role of Analysis Consultation

Consultation supports research discussion, analysis design, reproducibility review, visualization, and publication planning. It does not guarantee a particular conclusion, result, or delivery date. Predictions, warnings, and official decisions concerning earthquakes, eruptions, space weather, or communication disruptions are outside scope.
