Accessibility

F-Factory Research aims to make research information readable, operable, and understandable, including with assistive technology. We continually design, test, and improve our pages.

POLICY11 SECTIONS

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Scope

This policy covers public Japanese and English pages, navigation, prose, figures, and routes to forms on f-factory.co.jp. External publishers, data providers, and sites such as fortune-factory.net are controlled by their operators, although we work to make the purpose and external nature of a link clear.

Reference Framework

We use W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as a reference for improvement across the principles of perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust content.

We do not currently claim full-site conformance at a particular level. We combine automated checks with keyboard testing and review of rendered pages.

Structure and Navigation

Document language, unique titles, ordered headings, landmarks, breadcrumbs, current location, and a skip link communicate structure. The same functions use consistent navigation and labels. Controls should be keyboard reachable and operable, with a visible focus indicator that is not obscured by fixed content.

Text and Layout

Line length, spacing, heading hierarchy, whitespace, and contrast are managed for readability. Responsive layout should prevent content and controls from overlapping under browser text enlargement and on narrow screens. Font size does not depend solely on screen width. Long Japanese text, English words, and URLs should wrap within the available space.

Color, Motion, and Input

Status and data series do not rely on color alone; labels, line patterns, symbols, and prose provide additional cues. Flashing and excessive motion are avoided, and operating-system or browser preferences for reduced motion are respected. Buttons and links state their purpose. We check usable touch targets and logical focus order, and avoid making essential information available only on hover.

Images, Figures, and Equations

Meaningful images receive text alternatives and purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. A research figure also describes its title, axes, units, legend, interval, source, processing, main point, and limitation in text. Complex figures receive a reading order, and equations are accompanied by definitions of symbols and units.

Japanese and English

Browsers and assistive technology can identify the language of the document and relevant parts. The language switch leads to the corresponding page. Abbreviations are expanded at first use and technical terms link to the Glossary. Where translation is incomplete, the status is stated rather than presenting unexplained Japanese detail as an English page.

Known Limitations

External sites and third-party PDFs, videos, maps, or specialist legacy figures may not be controllable to the same degree. When a material barrier is identified, we provide an ordinary link, HTML summary, descriptive text, or alternative figure where practical. If an equivalent alternative cannot be provided immediately, we explain the limitation.

Testing and Improvement

We automatically check page structure, links, language, and image alternatives, and review representative pages on desktop and mobile. People also check keyboard operation, focus, zoom, contrast, reduced motion, and accessible names. New shared functions are tested across multiple pages and both languages.

Feedback

To report a barrier, provide the URL, environment, intended action, observed problem, and preferred contact method through the Contact page. Do not post a vulnerability or personal information to public social media. We review the issue and improve it according to its impact and what is practical.
