Keeping an Academic Site Up to Date
Publications, news, events, and member information need continuing updates. We organize content categories, fixed pages, bilingual coverage, and review and approval procedures so the site can be maintained when editors change. Old notices, completed events, broken links, and outdated profiles are reviewed, with useful records retained in an archive.
What Maintenance Provides
- An inventory of themes, plugins, permissions, integrations, and backups
- A record of checks, updates, and changes
- Backup and recovery procedures, with restoration checks where feasible
- Update guidance for posts, fixed pages, and bilingual content, plus an incident contact process
From Assessment to Maintenance
We assess the site configuration, issues, update status, backups, and access. Maintenance proceeds within the agreed scope while preserving the research-publication process.
What to Share When You Contact Us
- The site URL, operational issues, and update frequency
- Owners of the domain, hosting, WordPress, and backups
- Theme, plugin, and external-service arrangements
- Dates when work should be avoided, critical functions, and known issues
- Incident contacts, publication approvers, and data-retention conditions
You do not need to include passwords or credentials in an initial message. Any required access is granted securely after its scope and transfer method have been agreed.
Maintenance Scope and Response Arrangements
Emergency response and recovery arrangements are agreed individually around the maintenance scope and contact process. Uninterrupted operation or continued availability of third-party services is not guaranteed. Missing access or backups, custom modifications, major migrations, and recovery from compromise require an assessment before scope is agreed.
